Good to Know…

One tough nut to crack…

Did you know: Macadamia shells are the hardest shells to crack - it takes a whopping 300 lbs. per square inch to break these shells! Macadamia nuts come from an indigenous Australian tree. It was discovered in 1828 by botanist, Allan Cunningham, during his travels throughout the continent and today, these nuts are loved worldwide.

Why Macadamia nuts?

Macadamia nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and other unsaturated fatty acids. 80% of the fat in macadamias is monounsaturated – that’s the good, heart-healthy kind that lowers cholesterol levels. They’re also a rare source of palmitoleic acid and are rich in protein, fibre and antioxidants like vitamin E.
